Meet The Principal
Ashley Hernandez Jr., AIA, NOMA, NCARB
Ashley Hernandez Jr. is a licensed architect with more than 25 years of experience in professional practice and project management across a diverse range of project types. He began his career in the Raleigh area shortly after graduating from North Carolina State University, completing his internship development requirements and architectural registration exams early on. Since becoming licensed, Ashley has been consistently recognized for design excellence, earning awards from numerous civic and professional organizations.
Recognized for his people‑focused leadership style, Ashley brings a collaborative, solutions‑driven approach to every project. His ability to unite teams, navigate complex processes, and stay centered on meaningful outcomes makes him a trusted advisor to clients and a valuable asset to any project or firm
Ashley holds both a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Environmental Design in Architecture from North Carolina State University. He is licensed to practice in North Carolina, Maryland, Virginia, Georgia, and Tennessee, and maintains NCARB certification. Committed to professional service and advocacy, Ashley is an active member of the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) and is a Past President of the NOMA Atlanta Chapter. His leadership experience also includes chairing the Diversity Committee for the AIA Triangle Section, participating in Leadership Durham, and serving on the City of Durham’s Equal Opportunity/Equity Assurance Board.
Beyond architecture, Ashley is also a visual artist whose attention to detail and creative expression extend well beyond the built environment. Guided by a belief in aligning purpose, craft, and rhythm, he approaches both his professional and artistic work with intention and authenticity.
